Conventional strategic planning concepts is a modern and mostly applicable concept in today's organizations. At the time of business commencement the BOD of directors or the head departments of that organization made such organization's future mission, visions, and objectives; this define as conventional strategic planning. This conventional strategic planning cannot change time to time, because that is determined as once and the organization run to achieve its mission, vision objectives.

Strategic intent is that in which a readily grasped declaration of the courses that the management of a business plans on taking the company in over some future time frame.

 The strategic intent of a business needs to be easily understood by every member of the firm so that all staff can be working toward a consistent overall goal. Whereas the skill-bases strategic thinking is that in which the organizations allocates different authority to different departmental person based on their skills, capacity, knowledge, attitudes, experience, and so on. That helps organizations to take better strategic decisions from related persons to achieve organizational goals.

The similarities of all these strategic planning are that; these all are applied to achieve organizational goals, these all are set to achieve organizational mission/vision objectives, and these all are shares among organizational members. Generally, the conventional strategic planning set by BOD of the organization and that cannot change whereas the strategic intent and skill-based strategic thinking are change according to the needs of market and so on.

Thus, there is difference between these different concepts that can be applied in the organizations to achieve organizational goals from the different departments of the organizations. The organizations can perform better work from different departments by producing synergy while performing organizational activities, because the different concepts have different capacity and ability to achieve organizational goals within stipulated time from the best way.
